05 · About

The artist behind ARAYO.

ARAYO is the studio of artist Lior Givoni, based in Barcelona and working internationally. His practice grew from years of experimenting with colour, pattern and folded paper. He is drawn to paper for its versatility: a flat, familiar material that can become sculptural, architectural and full of movement.

Each work is built by hand, one folded unit at a time. Repetition creates rhythm and structure, while colour and small intuitive decisions give every composition its own character. The finished work shifts with light, shadow and the viewer’s position.

The name ARAYO draws from “array”: an ordered arrangement of repeated units and the principle at the heart of the work.
